Re: hatching started, yippee
actually Bobwhites can take as long as 23 days.
So Once all you're Japs are finished hatching, I'd hoink out all the chicks and unhatched Jap eggs (the ones that aren't white) and carry on incubating them for another 5 days.
I'd be interested to see what the M or W marked eggs turn out to be. I wonder if they are Mexican Speckled or White Bobwhites

update
7 yellow chicks and 1 stripey doing well, flight feather shafts are there now.
continued until today on the white eggs 3 fertile but dis, must have been when i got the chicks out.
lesson learned don't buy assorted eggs unless you know what they are.
anyway incubator is empty now so will clean up for 12 bantam eggs arriving tues. only putting 2 in this one so kids can see the rest will go in hovabator auto hidden in my bedroom.
the eggs are my sisters but she wants 6 hens anything extra will be mine. fingers crossed for a couple of hens for me lol

Awww, shame about the Bobs. They are lovely birds.
Were the Japs and Bobwhites sold as a bundle? I don't think I've ever seen them sold together in one listing on eBay or privately on a web site.
