We met the infamous Nino on Sunday, Joy and Greg introduced us and after wolfing down copius amounts of Joy's scones with masses of jam and cream, with tea provided by Dimity, and long tall stories provided by Nino, we set off in the direction of his Empire. After a lot of persuading, we managed to part Joy's admiring glance from Nino, and off we went on our adventure around his wildlife park. So before I get bogged down, I thought I'd write about my visit last week to Nino and Dimity's place (Welwyn Quails). I brought over a small box of mealworms for some of his precious babies (Mountain and Blue Scaled quails). The Blue Scaled were a lot more relaxed and I could appreciate their impressive colour better. It was a grey day and this pictures doesn't really show off their metalic blue chest. This adventure included quails by the hundreds, £1000 canaries, electric fences, lightning reflexes and a flat battery. I spent a wonderful day with Nino and Dimity and I wrote the whole thing in my blog. I do not want to spoil the many suprises that others may find in visiting their wonderful home. I caught Viral Enteritis and it knocked me for 6. I lost a ton of weight and it has taken me up till now to feel just a bit better. I am still on antibiotics and have to see the doc again this week as something has shown up on tests, but i don't know what yet. We enjoyed tea and scones on the patio and nino told us some jokes then he showed us all his birds I have never seen so many in one place it was wonderful. when we were coming home we just kept saying to each other how much we enjoyed our visit and how welcome we were made to feel. Perfect end to our weekend so all I need to say ...
