Chicks now 13 days old. Ive put them into my big brooder as they are growing so quckly and making a real mess and i only have 5!! They look tiny now though.

Just wondering if these chicks are fawn (a.k.a. ginger?) normal pattern ? They could also be fawn (a.k.a. ginger?) ranges. there is a larger range chick (I think) on the left, but the other chicks look like they could be fawn another pic of them running around like mad...

My first chick that are healthy. Tried to hatch 6 a fews weeks ago but only 2 hatched and one was deformed and the other's legs were splayed. I put 14 eggs in this time 4 have hatched this morning 3 healthy one with bad legs. Hopefully the others will hatch tomorrow and will all be healthy.

This is a jumbo quail, believe hen, from Harrie's eggs - she did have a friend, but it died a couple of days after hatching
She must be about 5/6 weeks now

this is my little "hi ho Silver" bobwhite Only managed to hatch 1 out of 9 eggs. 6 weren't fertile and the other 2 were dead in shell. He was quite weak for more than a day or 2 after hatching, so I didn't hold much hope for him. Now he is singing his head off. All my other quail are off heat, so I decided to put him in a little desk top brooder.

.... to keep my new surprise hatch company I found this little cutie all fluffed up in a dry incubator with turner still on .... thought the egg was a dud but forgot to remove it .... I'm so glad i didn't though. Its toes are quite badly curled, I'm hoping with massage they'll sort but its not stopping him getting about.

I think they're 7 weeks old now - my japs are 4 weeks, and the bobs were 3 weeks when the japs were day olds so they must be! Can't believe i've had the bobs nearly a month. Little tiddly Wobbly Bob. Both the bob chickies. And a Jake piccie, he's growing nicely!

My babies are growing, their toofties are getting quite impressive and it dawned on me I haven't posted pictures of them in a while ... so ...here they are I really can't believe how tame they are, ok they hate being caught but once you've got them out there great . Cali's (they've grown since these were taken) Gambel (I think, tippex rubbed off ) this ones my favourite, a bob ate his toe he'll happily fall asleep being stroked or perched on my shoulder ... I wonder ...

Well, I think my bobs have finished hatching and I've just counted them all. 24 chicks; 12 Giant Butlers, 8 mongrels (with tippex on their backs) and 4 Red Tennessee. Now the nightmare of shuffling around the birds into temporary accomodation while I build their permanent homes. Found an old plastic bottle quite useful for transporting the little rascals. Hence the title...

Well it's been another hot day and the babies enoyed it. All but the youngest were out in the sun. Going thru the chicks I obtained from Joy on Friday, I noticed there were a handful that were a slightly different colour. It looks similar to one of the chicks I hatched from my ginger batch ( ginger mickey mouse chicks ), unfortunately that particular chick didn't survive. However in that batch I also hatched a gold/cinnamon (i.e. Gold without any black markings, which also died due to a leg ...

Well I've finally broken my poor hatch record. I managed to hatch 15 (out of 24) beautifully coloured chicks. Unfortunately one has to be culled because of deformity (bad beak and no eyelids). 2 failed to hatch properly and the rest were infertile. The colours I thought were quite interesting with little mickey mouse face masks.

Mexican Speckled Bobwhite

Just over a day old now, my new little Bobwhites. They were an impulse buy. Nino had a couple at his place and I thought they were beautiful, so when I saw them being sold on eBay I just couldn't resist. They are the "Mexican Speckled" variety which is a recessive colour mutation that has a sort of caramel colour.

Look at the little white one poking its leg out One of each colour. 6 days old, starting to look all grown up. 2 weeks old, all grown up! Trying out the nest box. Investigating the brooder after cleaning, note the giant intruder who decided she was 2 weeks old not 5. Brown chickies eat... ...then white chickies eat! Little chick proudly jumped onto the nest ...

I think these photos were taken at 8 days, might have been 9 though, not that it really matters! Caught that MagletMaglet mid dance in the food! My normal, MagletMaglets and the A&M. A&M eating. Biggest range chickie. The A&M, she's (15 days old and still looks like a girl anyway!) a day younger.

Just thought I'd let everyone know. The batch of eggs I set on late afternoon of 26 March are starting to hatch in drips and drabs. One hatched around Friday midnight 11 April. He/she was joined by 2 others early this morning before I left the house. Then I came back this evening just in time to watch another hatch. So far 4 (I think 2 gold and 2 normal) hatched from 24 of Derek's lot. None of Harry's 12 have pipped yet. Bit blurred, but more pics and hopefully more chicks tomorrow...

Well the second batch of Nino's mystery Bobs didn't go well - My fault - nothing to do with the eggs, made the fatal mistake of trying to hatch two batches of eggs a week apart in the same incubator . 2 hatched well a white one and a huge normal one (could it me a giant butler?), 2 white's pipped at pointy end extra humidity @ day 16 - 18 probably caused them to grow to big to turn - their out now but are extremely weak and I'm still waiting for the last 2 eggs, but I'm not holding out much ...

Just moved the babies into a new box, and they loved it! As soon as they were in they started getting comfy Also a new drinker, took them a while to get the idea (and a new bulb as the other one "mysteriously" broke when my boyfriend decided to wash it )

Hello, Some of you may know but about two years ago I had some CPQ that reared their young. Having changed computers I deleted all pics I had and have recently spend quite abit of time trying to find them again as I had saved them to a photobucket account. Well last night around midnight I suddenly remembered my details. Originally I had 1 male 1 female CPQ so here we go:
