African blue quail

Latin name: Coturnix adansonii

Approximate size: 5 - 8 inches

Incubation period: 16 days

Characteristics

.Closely resemble Coturnix chinensis, but the male lacks the chestnut colouring underneath
.Male has a brown head, cheeks and side of his head
.Eggs are 24 to 29 mm long by 19 to 21 mm wide
.Chicks are precocial and are cared for by both parents and remain in the family group until they can fly
