Bobwhite quail
Latin name - Colinus Virginianus
Approximate size - 9½ - 10½ inches
Incubation length - 22 - 23 days
Characteristics
. Around 7 - 8 ozs in weight.
. Can be cannibalistic when young.
. Eggs are normally white in colour with a more pointed end than normal chicken eggs.
. Easy to sex in normal colouring.
. Male has white mask/Female has fawn mask.
. Mutations include: Mexican Speckled, Tennessee Red, White/Silver, and Indiana Giant which was developed for its large size.
