Honesty Box Abuse

I suspect I am not alone in have my chicken and quail eggs out side my gate with an honesty box.
Dose anyone else suffer from constant theft? 7 boxes of eggs yesterday the lot!
Makes me so angry and i feel like packing the whole thing up. Its just a hobby and to be able to sell the surplus eggs for £1 a dozen helps with the food bills.
Why would anyone feel the need to steal them.

would it not be better to just leave a sign on the gate and keepthe eggs inside?

hmmm tried that and not so many people stopped, on a good week i can sell £30 s worth at the gate, (busy road)
I have just bought a Dummy CCTV system to stick out there it may help.

but why should i have to? If they want some eggs for nothing they could ask and i would gladly let them for free?!?!? So angry i have knots in my stomach!

if they stole the eggs, they'd steal the dummy CCTV

It's a shame really, it just takes on person to ruin everything for everyone else

It's modern day socity to blame. People go to courts for affences they do and get very small fines, I watched a programme the other day where these people cheat unemployment and other benifits out of 1,000's of pounds and when they went to court they had their wrist slapped?

Apart from what you have done, other than standing there all day there does'nt seem much point in spending more money, you will always get the oppertunist theif in any walk of life.

Maybe put a sign up saying..... Please don't steal the eggs, if your that hard up and can not afford the £1 (which goes to feed the birds) I will give you a dozen if you ask.
