Is it correct that they need to be kept indoors in the winter? They are such lovely birds

Well in a shed Lottie and maybe with a very low lamp. I'm gonna try to harden mine off so they don't need a lamp. Will see how they go.

Re: Craigs Serama Bantams
yes, that is the only thing stopping me from getting some lottie. They need a bit of warmth and pampering apparently. I haven't got acres of land and a rich BF like Harrie

Hi All,
Thanks for your comments,
andoy yes you can get silked and they are rare too, worth a bit if there from top bloodlines, Mine arent show but are from a good bloodline.
Sam you dont need acres, I dont have acres, I live in a built up area, houses very close to each other, but Ive got alway with noise etc lol
Yeh I keep my serama bantams in the garage where its warm, But do let them go on grass if its a nice day.
Thanks
Craig

Re: Craigs Serama Bantams
Do you heat yours at all in the winter Craig? I'm hoping to get away with just hutches in a well insulated (but ventilated
) shed.

Hi Harrie,
No I dont bother with heating, I just keep them in pens in the garage, with plenty of hay to snuggle into.
They seem alright, but they dont really lay in winter.
