Monsters @ 9wks

Post by Suz on Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:23 pm

my babies are growing up fast only 9 weeks old and they tower over the little silkies. i tried to take a few comparison pictures, but the silkies were being nasty Evil or Very Mad and terrified the poor babies.

Hopefully boy Brahma - haven't decided on a name yet but its between 'Galloping Gunty' or 'Wondering Wullie'

POL Silkie hen bullying poor little (hopefully) girl 'Bunty'

Silkie terrifying both babies Sad

wow they are lovely Suz, MASSIVE!!!

Is 'Wullie' a cock then? Is that why he's got those dark feathers?

i'm hoping Galloping Gunty Wundering Wullie is a cock because his face & comb is redder than Bunty's (doesn't really show in these pics). He's called a light Brahma but carries the blue gene from his Dad, Bunty for some reason is white though see is supposed to be a Blue Columbian like her mum & dad.

Don't tell KP but i have just bid on 6 more unrelated Blue columbian brahma eggs ... fingers crossed I'll be able to make up 2 breeding groups.

Its your fault, if you didn't force me to look at the possible new silkie house, i wouldn't have accidentally typed brahma in the search box then scrolled down the page until these jumped at me .... Smile Smile

Well, I've been measuring all the potential places I could have put a new Silkie house in my garden. I just couldn't find enough room. I'd have to re-arrange my collection of tree ferns yet again! Might be easier to cover the whole garden with aviary meshing at this rate! Embarassed

So, I'm posting 3 eggs for Claire to hatch tomorrow. The rest of the potential babies are going up for adoption when they hatch. Compiling a list of potential foster parents already. It's like having babies, but without having the responsibility of raising them. Twisted Evil
