Percentage Weight Loss

Quail eggs need to lose 11-13% of their weight during incubation. This formula can be used to calculate weight loss -

% weight loss at (Day 10) = Day 0 egg weight (-) minus Day 10 egg weight (/) divided by Day 0 egg weight (X) multiply by 100

Average daily loss = % weight loss (Day 10) divided (/) by 10

Projected loss at 15 days (C.coturnix pipping) = Average daily loss X 15


To Calculate Fertility Percentage

Number of eggs set = a Number of eggs fertile at candling = b

Percentage of fertile eggs = b x 100 divided by a


To Calculate Hatch Percentage

Number of fertile eggs = b Number of eggs hatched = c

Percentage of fertile eggs hatched = c x 100 divided by b
