Brown Egg! Empty Brown Egg!

Post by Harrie Sun Apr 27, 2008 9:25 pm

One of my quail has just laid a brown egg!!! Looks exactly the same as a normal quail egg with spots etc but the background colour is brown not cream. Weird. Anyone had this before?? scratch

My ranges eggs are usually browner than normal, I've also had white eggs with no spots, eggs which look greenish blue and eggs which you can see pictures in the spots (might just be with a fertile imagination Smile)

My eggs vary a lot, but each hen seems to have her own style.

Wow, I've not seen one that dark before. When you said brown originally, I thought you meant beige/brown. That's almost a chestnut colour

What a lovely array of eggs you all have - I would be happy with just one - any shape colour or size would do me bounce
