What breed of quail lay the largest eggs?

Post by sarah.leggett on Sun Sep 09, 2007 2:04 pm

We are looking into getting quail for use as a table bird and for eggs. We would like a bird that lays as big a egg as possible for quail. We got some chinese painted eggs which are tiny Shocked . Would like ones a little bigger.

Thanks in advance

A good all round table and egg bird would be the Japanese quail, their eggs are 4-5 times larger than the CPQ and apparently 2 birds make a lovely meal for 1 Smile

Hope this helps
