Just want to say I think you lot are a terrible bad influence on me. Very Happy

I have my little gang of chicks and am I satisfied now? NO!!!
Now really really want some jumbos or some different colours-or prefrebly both!

trouble is I already being moaned at over electric bill (I hatch a lot of chicken chicks too) and am ending up quietly plotting how I could set a brooder up out of sight! ... that and peering at various ebay listings!

just fancy setting another 24 or 36.... that'd be enough then I'm sure Very Happy

ooo blue silver sound rather nice:) I just LOVE blue silver birds.
cpq I must admit I do not find tempting-had the little horrors before and couldn't cope with the manic speed of them ! might have just been the strain I hatched but they were total loonies! very beautiful colours though when they stayed still long enough to get a glimpse.
its the jumbos and multicoloured japs that I'm drawn to. my finger keeps hovering on the BIN button on various ebay listings!
I love the ease of hatching with the quail and speed of maturity-my other love-serama bantams are total swines to hatch so it is just wonderful watching the quail break out like the gremlins-up running and ready to go.
anyhow I've figured I shall HAVE to hatch another set as I do think my market japs are very inbred so could do with hatching another batch so my favourite little gold cock has some unrelated hens and the hens from this group an unrelated cock. good reason erhh?

Sounds good to me Smile

I've banned myself from eBay, every time I'm on it leads to more eggs Embarassed - I really don't have much willpower when it comes to quail.

2 dozen golden giants from Game For Anything Smile
they sound exactly what I'm after. apparently likely to get odd white one pop up so a little colour variety but mainly I'm after size increase as my market jobbies -adoreble though they are-are for most part a rather scrawny undersized crew.

You need to get hold of the women-I couldn't understand the bloke either!
she told me 2 dozen were £12.50 delivered via special delivery.
charges £3 per dozen plus post.

Very reassuring to see some of my eggs relatives-they all look beautiful big chunky quail. Smile

yeah, his jumbo's are quite big. my eggs didn't come from him directly - Dean's (forum) stock all came from him, and I got eggs from Dean - golden & white Jumbo's - fertility wasn't to hot as they had only started laying, but I got a couple of lovely girlfriends for spike Smile
