How do you get your quail to lay all year round? I bought mine in early Sep, had two eggs in the first two days and then nothing Mad

Hi Bena,

Your birds will only lay if there are 14+ hours of light is available.Normal day lenth this time of year is just over 8 hours, you'll have to put light into the shed/pens your quail live.

My lighting programe is 5am-8am + Normal day light + 4pm-10pm.So mine are getting 17 hours light per day. Most of my stocks are laying every day, the fertilty is still very high. Derek.

If you house them in a garage and give them artificial light then they will lay throughout the winter.
