hi decoyboy
Jap/italian eggs are great for eating
i beliecve all quail eggs are edible,
CPQ eggs are quite nice and creamy(ish) but are very small, so you would need quite a few of them.

I think it might be fun working out how many CPQ eggs you'd need to boil to make an egg sandawich Smile

Seriously though I'm sure they are all edible, its more common to use Jap eggs over here. Cali or Bobwhite eggs would make it a rather expensive meal.

Hi decoyboy,

Since all egg are made of the same "ingrediants" you can eat all birds eggs, I used to like seagull eggs when I was younger, but thats now illigal to collected them now.

To work out how many cpq eggs it takes to mark a standard chicken eggs is to weigh them.

If your going to breed quails for egg production, use the japanese species.

Hi,

It is a constant egg battle here, i have Japanese Quails and when i collect the eggs they dogs try to trip me up so they can get them! My hubbys Dad is next in the queue as he loves them, but hasn't tripped me up yet!!!

Have you tried frying the eggs, they look sooo cute (yes at long last i have eaten a quail egg!!!)

I made fairy cakes with my niece and nephew and we used eight eggs to make 24 cakes,.

Does anyone keep the egg shells, i do then i boil them up and add them to the layers mash as they seem to like that.
