panic

Can you get citicosis from quails?

Just having a panic as i have had a cough for ages and have been reading about it and now i am worried, am i being really daft?

Any ideas out there?

I think any bird can carry psitticosis...but would they have to catch it from outdoor birds? Pet shops are supposed to quarantine birds for a while to check for diseases like that, so you'd *hope* that any birds bought would be clean.

Hi Batty,

I think you can only catch psitticosis from species of parrots.

No, its any bird. Pigeons carry it, chickens, ducks etc.

Its more likely to be the dust from their feathers causing your cough than any bird disease, I use my inhaler more now that I've got all my birds than I ever had before.
