The New Bobwhite House

Post by Suz on Wed Feb 27, 2008 11:55 am

Well the bob's have spent their first night in the new house its 7.5' x 3.5' x 5' (@ highest part), I've mixed my 2 groups - so far with no problems, but don't know if the house is going to be big enough for all of them, but there not over crowded, So will need to track down the same type of house but from a different supplier. (Please note that the birds do have plenty of room, I kept chancing them to get them in the photos Very Happy )

I saw some like that on Ebay - nice to see what they look like being used. How many do you have it there? Are they the same size your Japanese quail or smaller?

Hi Lottie

The Bobwhites are larger than the Japanese Quail. Hopefully after this weekend there will be 40 in that house giving them 10.5" sq floor space each along with the 14' of perches and a 5' log which is already in place within the housing, the other 20 Bob's will be getting the new house that was bought for the ducks, the ducks don't like being shut in after being used to wondering around the aviary so I was out today buying them yet another house and organising for a very nice man to come and build a wall at the bottom of the garden @ No1 and fence off a section for the ducks, hubby's still swithering on whether their getting a pond or not, but I'm working on him Smile
