Re: My ducks
They are campbells. The brown one is a khaki campbell and the other 2 are white. They are a good egg layer, laying 300 eggs+. They haven't come into lay yet but are due to around feb, due to winter but it may be earlier.
You can also get dark campbells. You can get blue as well i think, but they are very v.rare.

Re: My ducks
I hatched mine from eggs and went for the mini Silver Appleyards. I wanted something small that could give me eggs. I didn't realise that they are quite small (Bantam Pekin chicken size). I ended up with 4 drakes.
I also hatched some Black East Indian ducks, which are even smaller. I at least have one duck

Re: My ducks
Yeah there do but i let them at when i'm out cleaning the pens out. The run is 4ftx4ft and i got the house off ebay. They have also got a bowl of water which 2 of them can fit in. I would recommend the campbell as the are a nice size bird not to big or small. but also should lay 300+ eggs a year. not that they have yet, not old enough.

Smaller ducks are easier to keep and less messy. Just be careful you don't get carried away like me. I have 8 domestic ducks and a pair of Mandarin ducks.
Another option is to go for more ornamental ducks. My pair of Mandarin ducks are no where near as messy as my other ducks. Extremely quiet too, I hardly ever hear them.
Re: My ducks
do you have a picture of your mandarins and are they big or small.

Re: My ducks
I don't have a picture of my Mandarin ducks (I must get one tomorrow), but here are some links;

The male doesn't have the pretty feathers all year round. They tend to look drab till just before the breeding season (late winter / early spring).
They are slightly smaller than my Black East Indian ducks (which are about the same size as a call duck)... about the size of a pigeon maybe.

Re: My ducks
I would love to have a pond that big! Less grass to mow! I love ducks, but I thought you had to have some kind of water source to have them. So, an aviary with a small plastic pond is as far as i can go at the moment. Next summer I have very big plans.
You should read this book. It's a very funny story about ducks. The author's website is here: http://enslavedbyducks.com/pages/DucksIndex.html
I haven't read the sequel yet. That will be next summer's read for sure.
