Size of identification rings
Hi does anyone know what size identification rings i would need for Jap quail and at what age they can be fitted?

i done mine on my CPQ at 6 weeks but japs are bigger so probably 5 weeks but you dont need to know the size if you are going to order them from www.achughes.com just write on the form japanese quails. hope this helps

I now ring all my birds with aluminium closed rings from A.C Hughes.
For this year (2008) they are blue. Size R
The price is £2.98 per 10 ring (but cheaper if you buy 50 or 100).
Their web page is www.ringo.co.uk
The rings are put on at about 5 weeks old, but keep an eye on them if they are small birds as they can slip off.

ive normally given light blue split rings to my cock birds and pink split rings to my hens and i buy 50 and i got 25 blue and 25 pink.
