Fertility Drop Empty Fertility Drop

Post by Suz Thu Oct 04, 2007 12:40 pm

Is it usual for fertility to drop the week before quail stop laying? Do the males get less frisky as the days shorten?

Thanks

Hi Suz,

The males do tend to lose intrest in the females as light levels fall, and this will result in infertile eggs.To remain fertile, birds need a minimum of 14 hours day lenth. Derek.
