Hi Emma,
The first egg is always the best for me from my flock, it shows you there are more to come.lol, Derek.

There's another today :O
Is that likely to be from the same bird? I'm semi-convinced Mike is planting them as a joke

Hi Emma,
Yes it's possable for the same bird to lay again next day, you'll find you'll probably get upto 6 or even 7 eggs per week from your quails if they have over 14 hours light per day. Remember it takes 4/5 quail eggs to be the size of an average hens egg. I like mine scrambled best.lol. Derek.

We're planning on having a tiny fried egg each tonight, Derek
We do home made pizzas every week, so future eggs will probably be saved up and used to make the pizza base

Re: Look what my clever girl did!
Two eggs last night :O They were laid sometime between 4pm and 2am. That seems like an awful lot of laying for one little birdie.
Brings the total up to 5 so far. Now considering i've spent about £70 on birds, food, accessories, housing these have worked out to be very expensive eggs

Re: Look what my clever girl did!
Oh yeah, I don't begrudge spending the money They're really cute. Another egg today (I will stop telling you all soon...its just its still exciting!). I need more hens though...since the silly boys are fighting...not cos i'm getting addicted. Honest.
edit...
Just been to check now and there was another egg. This one was actually laid in the nest box! The eggs i'm getting when there are two in a day are different colours and patterns (one has a darker base colour, and a paler speckle colour) so i'm hoping this does mean I now have two birds at it
