Just thought i'd complain...i'm stuck in uni feeling ill and really wanting to go home and see how many more chicks I have now!

Bad Derek, not passing the news on!

Well I thought I had 14/15 chicks from Derek's fertile eggs (one poor beastie died on the way out on day 15), and 5 from my own - but i've just done two headcounts and got 20, so need to go through carefully and see who has rings and who doesn't (got little rings to mark my chicks, the big purple ones from Adam to mark the Derek hatchlings). Since I emptied the inc in a couple of batches I could easily have miscounted!

Edit - Just checked chat, good news was passed on! All chicks still bouncing around and very noisy (all in brooder now).

Edit again - 15 chicks from Derek - only 8 duds then. Must have got the tally chart wrong when I was breaking open the clear eggs to check I was right. 3 goldens, 12 what I assume normals (although some darker than others). From my own chicks, 2 range, 2 golden, one normal.
