GAME Guess the Quails - not a game, i need to know!

Further to my post "4 Quails" can anyone have a crack at guessing the sex of these little beauties. Sorry about the pictures, but they were feeling a little bit camera shy!!!

So what do you thing male or female?

By the way i have no idea what they are, just they are 8 weeks old. There is another quail, but it just wouldn't play ball so i shall have another go tomorrow.

Thought as much, thank you for all your time and help, guess i am gonna have to raise some blue air tomorrow, they seem happy together right now, but i guess they are gonna get cross fairly quickly.

How do i go about this?
How do i get them all together as a happy family?
Will they ever be a happy family?
What have i done?

Sorry i am really, really upset and i don't know what to do.

The boys really should be OK living together if they're away from females. Otherwise you're gonna need at least 12 hens to go in there...to keep them calm - even then there's no guarantee they'll think thats enough girls to go between.

Are these new ones you have bought BB ? If so and you were sold them as females, perhaps you could take them back. They are lovely colours - with the patterned head as golden breasts.

How old are they?

Well another one is a definite boy he started crowing in reply to Jack this morning and he has foamy stuff too, one of the others is standing right up high and looking like he might give it a go too. But the golden one is still on the shelf so to speak, nothing there at all yet, but i am assuming it/he will start if the others have.

I have called the breeder again and got really cross and am going back on Friday for the last time for the females i bought, honestly you'd think he would know.

Ahh well live and learn, but i guess i have learnt one thing, how to sex quails a bit better.

the breeder you used sounds like a right scoundrel...... for want of a better word!!

i'm no expert on Japs..... but.... boys have a chesnut/golden breast
girls have mottling on there chest
