Muddy Quail Empty Muddy Quail

Post by Suz Wed Jul 25, 2007 2:24 pm

I've just had to move some of my quail into new housing, after 2 days of heavy rain. Thing is the poor thing are covered in mud, I cleaned their feet and legs with baby-wipes before the mud could dry, But am unsure the best way to clean their feather which are covered in dry mud scratch - Any idea's/suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thank You

Hi,
If you let the mud dry on the feathers first, Put a bowl of chinchilla sand in their pen, they will dust bath in that, and the mud will come off, easy, lol. Derek.

Well my White quail are looking a bit better, tried bathing 2 of them, but they weren't very happy about it. The rest cleaned them self - but are still looking a bit grubby.
