I presume you are talking about Texas A&M strain of Japanese quail (Coturnix). It's a university where the strain for larger sized birds was bred.

Wow, that was quick! Yes sorry, should have elaborated, I was referring to a type of Japanese quail. I'd seen mention of it in this forum but have never heard of it before.
