Old boy now!!
Hi all,
I just wanted to show you a few photo's of little Wilf, he is now eight years old (April just gone). He was abandoned by his mum and was very cold when we found him, we picked him up and put him in the greenhouse to warm through and after a few mins he gave out a "pip" noise, we knew it could be touch and go for a while but we continued the TLC treatment and he remained in the house with us until he was big enough to venture into the great outdoors. At first he was very nervous of his new surroundings but it wasn't long until he became the "stud" of the group , he now enjoys life in the slow lane although he does like day trips or walks out in the country and he still eats like a horse!! I have never had a quail live to his ripe old age so he is truly remarkable.
Enjoy,
Helen.

Hi Helen,
At 8 years old, your quail must be a contender for the world record. He sure looks good for his age. Where did you take him for his holidays then? (second photo)
Derek.

Re: Old boy now!!
Thanks for your comments, the second photo was just a few hours out and about in the fresh air, it's a five mile walk around a reservoir called Draycote, it was a lovely day to be out and as I had my camera I thought it would be fun to take a few photo's of little Wilf on one of his adventures!!

Re: Old boy now!!
Well I told little wilf all your comments, he just gave me that look ( ).
Yes, he is very tame but then he has been handled for a very long time now!!
Not flew off yet, don't think he has that strength anymore, probably too heavy with all the scoffing he does!!
Helen.
