Hi Rete,
One of my quails are like that now - apparently it from smooth surfaces - Not sure if you placed a kitchen roll sheet or a tea towel at the bottom of your incubator to assist them walking. I just used kitchen roll but my one still walks funny. So not sure.
Search on forum for splayed feet (I think its called that) as you can make a splint for them... Good Luck with the rest of your hatch though!

I have cured several splayed legs with micropore tape/sticking plasters. You make a kind of hobble for them with enough of a gap in the middle for their legs to be body width or so apart. (Basically wrap the tape around one leg and then over to the other with a enough tape joining them for them to get around). You need to do this within the first day or so and leave on for about 3 days I think. I usually just let the tape wear off but keep an eye out to make sure there is no irritation. Hope this helps - hard to describe how to do it.
