Quail feed - just a thought for those stuck
I was just thinking that for anyone really stuck for quail pellets that I could buy bags and post them out.
It'd be pretty expensive - bags are £9.30, and postage would be £8 - but if you've only got a couple of birds and want them on the higher protein feed it might be worth it. When I first had them I ordered food online (OK so food was half the price a year ago), but if I was mad enough to pay the £7 or £8 for courier delivery I thought other people might be!

Oh thats a good idea Emma as there isn't a marriage stockish near me
How much would it cost all together then? £17.30?
Do you know a rough use by date for the pellets?

Yeah - it should be £17.30 - i'll need to see if I can find decent sized boxes to post it in as i'm not that confident a bag with an address label stuck on would arrive safely (so if I had to buy something it would be a little more - but there are normally free boxes at supermarkets). The courier I was looking at was the same price for 5 and 10kg, and I can't find anything cheaper than them. Obviously half a bag would be half the price - and if you're not gonna get through 20kg it makes sense to buy half a bag rather than pay an extra £4.65 and waste it.
The "use by" is 3 months - but that is the date at which the vitamins start to degrade, the food is still fine for another 3 or 4 months.

Yeh getting half a bag makes sense. I've just brought a 5kg bag of mash for when the stuff you gave me runs out so I should really use that until it runs out, its only 16% protein thought so going to have to suppliment them a bit
Won't this be a massive hassle for you?
Do you know of anywhere online that sells the quail pellets because that would save you the trouble?

Not a massive hassle - I go and buy the food anyway and I think the courier do doorstop collection!
Just thought it would be nicer than having people panic cos they can't find the perfect food
