bobwhites
hi all im just curios what age do bobwhites mature into egg laying and also ive got 3 day old japs just hatched and 13 day old bob with feathers just coming through and the japs are just a tiny bit smaller the bobs grow well slow lol they are so fast though
Re: bobwhites
Yes they grow a lot slower than Japs. I can't remember how many weeks, but it's about 5 or 6 months before they start laying.
Despite their slower growth rate, I'm quite warming to them as their chirping sounds aren't as shrills as Japs. I just butchered a whole lot of Jap males for eating ealier than I wanted to. Their shreiking early in the morning was just driving me up the bend. I think I can live with a lot more Bobwhites, than I can with male Japs.
