?Simple? Quck Tax Return
Even though Im a full time carer for my parents, and therefore get carers allowance I still have to fill in a tax return.
Can anyone tell me which bit BENEFITS go into??
Why is it that the "simple, quick" tax return is so difficult??

Re: ?Simple? Quck Tax Return
I was self employed in 2002 for about 12 months.
Ever since then they have sent me a blooming tax return and every year I forget which catagory or page benefits goes in.
Its annoying because it doesnt actually mention benefits anywhere in the form.

Re: ?Simple? Quck Tax Return
I dont understand either.
I went to the tax office last year for them to check it before I handed it in, you know what they are like for fines if you make a simple mistake.
The lady I spoke to put it on the computer not to send any more, but I got one anyway.
I wish I had time to work, I could do with the moey.
Carers allowance is £50.55, not much is it??

Re: ?Simple? Quck Tax Return
Ok
I have found out that carers allowance goes into part 4.4 of the short taz return.
But is Income Support included or is that seperate and not taxable??
I am reluctant to ring HMRC as last time I did I got told to read the information booklet sent with it.
Grrrrr...........it doesnt mention income support.
Any ideas anyone??
Thanks
Jo

Re: ?Simple? Quck Tax Return
hi if I was you I would ring them any way and ask to speak to an adviser and ask to speak to one at the job centre or social as my husband also gets carers allowance for me and income support the same as you and as never had to fill one out. so abit confused as to why you should.
