heating for coops
i have just started building my 1st avery today which it will have a 5ftx4ftx4ft coop in it for shelter and for night times but with the winter on its way whats the best way to heat it :?: is a heat lamp the way to go or should i use saoe thing else :!:

Hi Phillip,
As long as the shelter is waterproof and is out of the wind,I don't see the need of heating really.
More important is lighting,in the dead of winter, there are only about 8 hours of daylight. I often wondered if the small Cpq's were getting enough food to last them through the long winter night.
I move mine into a large shed, it has no heating, but has lights.Derek.

I haven't heating in my parrot aviary, I was told that they don't need heat unless the water freezes. So I'm hoping same goes for quail
