Aww sweet a pretty little golden/italian - don't you just love it when they dust bath in there chick crumb
Re: favourite chick
mmm I'd find the dust bathing a lot cuter if they didn't ALL do it-quail, bantam chicks, large fowl chicks, adult bantams! the waste is appalling....

My sarcastic tone was lost in my first post lol
I've tried umpteen different styles of feeders and found my quail always manage to waste more than they eat - I've got 13 new hatched chicks running round and round mushroom? feeder kicking the food everywhere as I type
Re: favourite chick
Hi,
I use open bowls to feed my baby quail chicks on. To prevent them from dust bathing in their food, cut ½in wire netting to the size of the bowl, with an extra one inch or so. Bend this overlap, to shape, and place whole lot of netting over the food. This will help the stop of waste food. Derek.

Re: favourite chick
Watching mine chuck all their food around I was wondering about pputting some sort of wire over the top.
