Hi Beastman
A female quail will lay one egg per day, it is recommended that a male has 5 hens and will happily do the business with these supplying you with fertile eggs.
To check the fertility of your eggs without incubating them - crack them open on a saucer and look for a small white disc on the yolk.
Hope this helps

Hmm. Okay... What if i want to incubate the eggs. So how do i know whether it is fertilised before putting into the incubator? Haha. I don't wanna crack those eggs... Is there any way to tell that the eggs are fetilised? Thanks anyway tho.

Re: How do u know whether a quail egg is fertilised??
Well, basically the answer to your question is NO - there is no way to do a pregnancy test on an egg, and especially not on an egg that you intend to incubate, you need to take your chances and wait 7- 10 day and candle.

Haha. Okay. Hmm. Once last question. An egg can remain fertile for 10 days in room temperature right? Anyway, thanks loads for the help.

ask as many questions as you want, we're always happy to help if we can.
yeah, after 10 days the fertility drops quite dramatically, but i have had a few chicks from eggs that were about 2weeks old.
If you have young stock and you see your male treading the female, or the female has feathers missing from her head and/or scruff of her neck then chances are your eggs will be fertile.
