Gameshooting.
Hello everyone,
I was interested to hear your views on gameshooting such as pheasant and partridge. We eat/sell (to be eaten in resturants/ sold in butchers etc) all that is shot, the countryside benefits hugely on the conservation work that is done by shooters/gamekeepers. It generates huge amounts of money for both the countryside and the government.
Just wondered on your views on this.

Re: Gameshooting.
Its never something i've given a second thought to. I was brought up in the countryside, people do it, I don't - it doesn't bother me.
Re: Gameshooting.
Hi Gamekeeper, My local gamekeeper 'deals' with the foxes. Certainly works for me and my poultry ! He also puts up an excellent fence at a good price when he isn't busy elsewhere.

Re: Gameshooting.
The village that I live in hotels advertised themselves as being located in the Golf, Shooting & Fishing heart of Scotland.
I quite often have pheasant and grouse wondering round the garden that escaped the fields the were released in for organised shoots. I do know how to shoot but don't enjoy killing, I much prefer shooting at targets, my hubby on the other hand until very recently went out shooting regularly every season. I do find shooting both as a recreational sport & a way of conservation preferable to hunting with dogs.

Re: Gameshooting.
mine are due tomorrow too
never been hunting myself but it's something I would quite like to try. I don't agree with killing something just to hunt. I'd like to do it to then use the birds for food.
