chickens with quail

can these 2 use the same run without trouble???

I've got silkies, Bobwhites & Japanese Quail in the same run and they get on fine.

Suz you have such lovely laid back silkies. I would be wary of quail with chickens especially in a run. If you do try it then keep a close eye on them. I have Buff Sussex at the moment and they are so laid back they are almost horizontal. But before that I had some RIR and they were vicious to newcomers. They would fly to attack any new chickens I introduced. This wasn't too bad as they had a large area but if they had been in a confined space then I really think they would have done some damage.

What chooks are you thinking of keeping with quail?

yeah ... I keep forgeting that these silkies are more laid back than other breeds also mine aren't in a run as such they're in a 15' aviary so got plenty of room to avoid each other if need be.

I have japs and pekin bantams running together in an aviary - but theyre only 4/5 weeks old

I think they should be fine pekins are very laid back and docile.

What colour pekins have you got?

i put my 4 whites in with the quail and they were pekin at the quail so i build a new run and house today for them so there not together now.
