Well its arrived, was a bit worried about it this morning, it just sleeps & cheeps - not like the dynamo quail that I'm used to :)

I think its the kind of little fluffy chicken that I wanted - Black skin, fluffy legs & toe, and a freaky looking double back toe -

Aww Suz behave with those cute little silkie chick photos you know how I love silkies. Very Happy Very Happy

I am so pleased your little one hatched ok and I know I am biased but I think silkie chicks are sweetest little chicks ever.

Yes silkie chicks are supposed to have five toes by the way although one of mine doesn't for some strange reason. lol!

ok another daft question - the kids asked me if it will grow a comb thing on its head, but I didn't know the answer lol - So do silkies grow comb thingys?

Its double back toe is the feakiest thing I've seen in a while, and noice, oh me poor thing chirps non-stop, Its warm enough, eating & drinking OK, I've put in a toy for it to snuggle, the only time it shuts up is when I let it chase & peck my fingers Laughing But it so cute Very Happy

Hi Suz,

Yes it will grow a comb, but not like normal chickens. It's what you call a Rose comb, rather flatish on it head, another this is, the combs are Blue. Just google Silkie for pictures. Derek
