So far I've got 48 still waiting on 13 eggs, but they havent even pipped so not holding out much hope

As my chicks are in the house I use a 60 watt firegow bulb £1. 69 for 2 from the village shop Smile

that sounds a better idea, i normally pay over £7 each for the big bulbs and because the electric supply is so bad here they pop every couply of weeks. Do your bulbs need a ceramic holder?

these are just normal bayonet bulbs fitted to light fittings from B&Q, all my chicks have been brooded with these without any probems. I do have a big brooder lamp but it wasn't practical for use in the house, and to be honest I don't think it would do the job any better.
