Hi

Just wondering if anyone can recorded/film their quails crowing, so i can hear what it sounds like because i really don't want to get a male and the neighbours to complain. Evil or Very Mad Because then i would have to get rid of him Sad

thanks

Hi Sam,
I find the crow varies between birds. I currently have 3 cocks outdoor, and they crow once or twice a day, the neighbours have said nothing and you can't hear them with the windows closed. However, I have one single male indoors who crows his head off nearly all day - even outside you can hear him!

I'll have a go at recording the outdoor birds, but its a matter of knowing when they're going to do it!

Hey, I recently recorded this male crowing (bit disappointed as I thought it was a female!)

I had to give one male the chop, all he did all day way every few second crow.
It sounds like "Look at me".

Saw one of my neighbours tonight, asked him If he had noticed the noisy one.

He had thought it was a cookoo and his wife wondered if it was an injured blackbird.

They live three door down from me.

I dont think it is worth upsetting the neighbours, he did say it was calling at half 5 in the morning.

If we have Bantam cocks when their voice breaks, they also get the chop.

It might sound a bit harsh, but nice neighbours are far easier and cheaper.

Thanks

I have 2 males, one on his own which was brought up with other quails but had to be seperated because of fighting and he crows constantly throughout the day.
However the other male, who is still in with the 2 females is very very quiet and I'm lucky to hear him crowing.

I'm glad you asked this question Sam, I've been worried about it too.
