Are these males??
I have identified 3 of my jumbos as definite males - they have the chestnut chests and striking clown faces. But these 2 I'm not 100% sure. They do have reddish chests but the face markings aren't so pronounced and these 2 are quite large whereas the other 3 males are smaller. I'm sure you'll know straight away. Thanks.

Re: Are these males??
Yeah they are, that's what Dan was like...but he had a few speckly feathers...he then sort of moulted to look like a proper chestnutty boy.

Hi Harrie,
I would say 2 boys, but i have a light golden girl (Goldie) who has no speckles & no head markings - so to be sure do a vent test - if they're boys the back of his vent towards his tail will look bulbous, if you give it a gentle squeeze it should release foam.

Well just tried the vent test and with the 2 ? there was no definite bulbous bit and no foam when pressed. Tried it with the males I'm sure about and it was obvious - bulbous and foam when pressed. So perhaps I'll hold onto the 2 ? for now and see if it becomes obvious. Also the group of males I've separated out are warbling whereas the other 2 ? aren't.
Not as easy as cockerels!
Thanks for the help.

Re: Are these males??
2 extra girls would be great Harrie
I don't know if its a Jumbo golden thing, but was looking at spikes wife this morning, she's was never heavily speckled but she's lost most of her speckles that she did have but she's definitely females - (only girl with spike and she laid her first egg yesterday)
