It's been a rather busy week and I've got another busy week ahead. So before I get bogged down, I thought I'd write about my visit last week to Nino and Dimity's place (Welwyn Quails). I brought over a small box of mealworms for some of his precious babies (Mountain and Blue Scaled quails). The Blue Scaled were a lot more relaxed and I could appreciate their impressive colour better. It was a grey day and this pictures doesn't really show off their metalic blue chest.

The Mountain quail also looked really healthy and stunning.

I also met his baby Mearns. Nino said it didn't quite look any different from other quail chicks, but I swear I could see something different. The eyes and face area look quite large. Nino loved the pic I took of the baby Mearns and put it up on his web site...

I hope he survives as I'm sure he'll be a real stunner when he grows up.

I am actually quite upset that I forgot to take photos when I was down there the other week. I was too focused on listening to what was said (and desperately trying not to forget as I am prone to doing) and I just forgot to take photos I shall have to remember for the next time Wink

Mountain Quail reminds me a lot of cockatiels. Only they are a much bigger bird (about the size of a pigeon) and their crest is tall and proud. They seem to be nice n'docile compared to Calis and Gambels.
