White Quails
Is it possible to buy eggs which are certain to hatch white Quails? I was tempted to bid on one but it didnt specify which breed they were.

Re: White Quails
Hi,
Of course it is, but If I was you, ask Suz first. Sue keeps whites in seperate pens so they'll only produce white chicks.
Derek.

Re: White Quails
Thanks Derek, i didnt think it would be a certainty i thought somewhere there must have been another colour 'grandad' which could alter the colour.
I'll be on the lookout for Sue

Re: White Quails
make sure you ask the seller alot of questions because ive had quail and the parents were pure white but it came out black and thats because my pair of white quails had a black colored dad, so it can skip.
Re: White Quails
My whites are mostly F2's & F3's but I recently added new whites which were the result of mating my silvers to whites, these were mainly white with a small clump of silver/blue feathers ... I have to admit I haven't hatched many of these recently, but my last hatch produced only white chicks.

Re: White Quails
Hi Ya Derek
No I took your eggs from the 2nd pen which at the time didn't have any silver/whites in it ...... I chose the eggs from there because I wanted to make sure the whites you hatched weren't related to the silver/Plats that you have already. Although I'm sure they would only be a distant relative Do you think you'll get chicks from the last 3 eggs?

Re: White Quails
Hi Suz,
It's day 18, they've got until 9pm to hatch,lol.
I've bred some whites from the normal platinum male, I thought they might be a distant relation, but it'll only be cousin at the very least. So I think by putting them together will not effect anything.

Re: White Quails
My whites will be complete mongrels there's normal, jumbo & A&M's all together so offspring should be a decent size bird.
