How much do quail eat per day (*aprox*)

I dont know if this can be answered, but I was just looking to see how much 5 jap's would eat per day?

I'm getting through a 20kg bag approx every month for just over 20 birds (although that is a bit skewed as I have had grower chicks in on the bag for varying lengths of time).

I tend just to top feeders up when empty...and clear them out every couple of days as they kick bedding in.

Adult breeding birds will eat approx 50-60g per bird per day, so a kilo of food should last you 3/4 days. But you have to take into account, it all depends on the type of food hoppers/feeders you use.

I feed all my birds from hoppers, they can only be reached by the birds if they stretch their necks, this stops any flicking of the food, so very hardly any waste.

If you feed birds in open bowls/dishes yu can expect over half the food to be wasted.
