Hello everybody,

I wondered if anybody could advise me on any types of plant or shrub that I could put in my Quail House for them to scratch about in, lay eggs under etc.

All advice appreciated

Martin

While building my aviary for my CAG's I looked at a few sites listing safe plants for parrots and aviary birds and can only presume they will also be safe for quail, so here's a couple of links -

http://www.robharvey.com/information/plants.html

http://www.nfss.org/Depts/Eduction/safeplants.html

Hope these help

Hi,

One thing you must remember when planting aviaries is, The plants must be planted a few months before the birds are introduced.Otherwise, they'll soon scratch them out and kill the plants.Derek.
