I think these first two pics are the same bird...

And this is definitely a different one (the smallest!)

I think they are a bit scared of us, if they're sat down they get up when we walk into the room, although they will walk onto hands put in front of them. They're only 4 weeks old (we're keeping their room nice and warm). We saw the other quail the lady had, Dad was the same colour as them, and the female birds were the darker brown, so from what little useful info I can find i've guessed they are "Italian Golden", but that its really just a mutation of the wild type japanese?

The boy is Waylon (I wanted Quaylon but was over-ruled). The girls are probably going to be Daisy and Rose, after slightly dim people in TV shows (i've been told quail aren't the sharpest tools in the shed Wink). They're cute though. I've seen them all eat, but haven't seen them drink yet, so i'm hoping they figure that out soon!

Yep, i'll get a pic later, they're not good posers so i'll need hold her, and since I didn't take these photos long ago I want them to calm down again if they are scared. One i'm sure is female...the other is a bit suspect...

OK pics...

I will get a pic of the iffy one tomorrow, s/he is the one that is most afraid of us...In the pic below s/he is the bum vanishing off the bottom of the pic Rolling Eyes

And this is the girl and I being surprised by the strength of the flash on the camera! She was nestled down in my elbow, which we thought would make a cute picture. We turned it down for the other shots, don't want poor blind quail!
