Well one of my great big chicks has just laid her first egg! They are exactly 7 weeks old today, so bang on time.

Don't know...I'm sure it wasn't there, then I stopped to fuss over chicks and then looked back at the big 'uns and it was!
Re: First "homegrown" egg :D
Had 2 eggs today, so they're both at it now That well and truly settles the "is Maglet a girl?" question I think!
Re: First "homegrown" egg :D
luck you, no eggs for me yet I'm afraid. When should they start laying again, also do they stop as they get older?

Re: First "homegrown" egg :D
They start laying at around 7 weeks old, generally it is said they need 16 hours of light to lay (however mine only get 12 or 13), but are indoor birds at the mo so I think the warm temp helps.
