This is my wee Gracie sound asleep on the back of my sofa, while I'm talking to Glenn & Joy on chat - poor thing doesn't realise she's a chook and not a lap dog Smile

I don't know how much they lay as it varies from site to site, but the average seems to be between 90 and 120 eggs a year - think the problem is they go broody easily.

Lottie, I haven't bred any silkies yet their all too young. Grace is number 2 lone hatch and the future wife of Mika - who is equally as tame being a lone hatch No.1.

Skye the blue silkie (lone hatch No.3) is tame but not quite as good as Mika & Grace, but she's only just coming up to 4 weeks and now has the other baby silkies as company Smile

I'm after some more silkies too - the fox has taken nearly all mine and I'm just left with a handsome lone cockerel who is desperate for a lady love and consequently tries his luck with anything that moves (we've had some very surprised miniature bantam cocks, as a result)
