Strange Duckling Behavior? Empty Strange Duckling Behavior?

Maybe Andy could answer this.

Alright, So yesterday I was letting my mallards have a swim in the kiddie pool when my dog came about and kept trying to get them. I kept pushing the dog away and I guess my ducklings thought I was defending them. Now they go balistic (sp?) when im not around making all sorts of racket and they follow me around the porch and yard if the dog doesn't scare them. I wanted this at first, but I was told that if you tame the ducklings like that they will be easier prey for predators. Is there anyway I can get them to not like me again?

indeed as Suz says, ducklings like most chicks are fickle things. If you leave them alone, they'll soon get used to being ignored and become more independent.

By the way, we want to see this Carolina duckling you saved "Mr Duckilng Protector" !!! bounce bounce
