Broody Bobs? Empty Broody Bobs?

Post by internet_nobody Tue Aug 26, 2008 6:30 pm

I've arrived home today, and my Bobette has laid 7 eggs in the nest box, but isn't sitting. Normally she plops them out on the floor, so this is progress!

How many eggs do they normally lay before going to sit? I don't want to take them out if she's likely to decide that tomorrow is the day to start trying to hatch them (i'd feel mean, she's made them such a nice nest), but likewise I don't want to leave them if its unlikely she will go broody!

Chooks usually lay around 6 or so Emma - not sure if Bobs would be the same.
