Re: Whats basic quail housing
A rabbit hutch & run, or an ark. They need shelter from the rain, so a run is a bit too basic.
Re: Whats basic quail housing
Hi Shane
A lot of my breeding groups are housed out door in three tier rabbit hutches... 4' x2' x18". In these I keep 4 females and 1 male. You'll need a 1.5l gravity feeder hung from the top, a 1.5l mushroom drinker and a house brick to raise it from the floor. (Stops shaving getting thrown in).You hutches need placing out of the cold winds/rain in winter, a plastic cover will help. You'll need a poultry feed supplier for food.
These are the very basic's quail needs to keep your quail healthy and laying if the lighting conditions are right.
Derek.
